DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A WEB-BASED CASHIER INFORMATION SYSTEM TO SUPPORT TRANSACTION MANAGEMENT AT STORE XYZ

Advancements in information technology are driving businesses to adopt computerized systems to support the management of transactions and operational data. To conduct its sales activities, Toko XYZ requires structured management of data regarding products, transactions, inventory, customers, and sales information. This study aims to design and develop a web-based cashier information system tailored to Toko XYZ's transaction management needs. The Waterfall development method was employed, comprising the stages of requirements analysis, system design, and system development. The system design utilized Unified Modeling Language (UML), database design, and interface design. The study resulted in a web-based cashier information system featuring management capabilities for users, products, sales transactions, inventory, customers, transaction history, and sales reports. The system also implements differentiated access rights for Cashiers and Admins/Managers based on operational requirements. As the study was limited to the design and development phases, the system has not yet been implemented in Toko XYZ's operations, nor has user testing been conducted. Consequently, the study's findings serve as a foundation for the implementation and testing phases in future research.
